Scope
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Covilio website, platform, related pages, and any associated services made available by Covilio.
By accessing or using the platform, users agree to comply with these terms. If a user does not agree with these terms, the platform should not be used.
Platform role
Covilio provides a digital platform that allows property-related content, availability information, booking flows, and related communications to be published and managed online.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Covilio acts as the operator of the platform and not as the owner, host, or direct provider of the properties, stays, or services listed by hosts or partners.
Eligibility and accounts
Users are responsible for ensuring that the information provided during registration or use of the platform is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
Each user is responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials
- restricting unauthorised access to their account
- all activity carried out through their account, unless misuse is promptly reported and properly evidenced
Covilio may suspend or restrict accounts that appear inaccurate, insecure, fraudulent, abusive, or in violation of these terms.
Listings and user content
Users who publish property pages, descriptions, images, pricing information, availability details, or similar content remain responsible for the legality, accuracy, and completeness of that content.
By submitting content to the platform, the user confirms that they have the right to use and publish it and grants Covilio a non-exclusive right to host, display, reproduce, and process that content as necessary to operate and promote the platform.
Users must not publish content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, infringing, abusive, or in violation of third-party rights.
Bookings, requests, and communications
Covilio may provide tools that allow users to submit booking requests, exchange operational messages, or manage reservation-related interactions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Covilio does not guarantee that:
- a property will be available
- a booking request will be accepted
- listing content is free from errors or omissions
- communications between users will always be uninterrupted, secure, or successful
Hosts and guests remain responsible for the commitments they make through the platform and for verifying the details of any reservation or stay.
Payments
Where payment functionality is available, transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe.
Covilio does not directly store full payment card data and is not responsible for independent outages, errors, or compliance obligations of payment providers acting under their own terms and policies.
Users are responsible for reviewing the terms and policies of any third-party payment service used through the platform.
Acceptable use
Users must not:
- use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive purposes
- upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with platform security
- copy, scrape, extract, or reuse platform data beyond what is permitted by law or expressly authorised by Covilio
- impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation, property, or booking status
- use the platform in a way that could damage, disable, overload, or impair the service
Covilio may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action, including content removal, account restriction, or legal reporting.
Intellectual property
The Covilio platform, including its branding, design, software, text, graphics, layout, and non-user-generated content, is protected by intellectual property and related rights.
Except where expressly permitted, no part of the platform may be copied, modified, distributed, licensed, reverse engineered, or commercially exploited without prior written authorisation from Covilio or the relevant rights holder.
Availability and changes
Covilio may update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue parts of the platform at any time for operational, legal, security, or product reasons.
While Covilio aims to keep the service available and accurate, uninterrupted access and error-free operation cannot be guaranteed at all times.
Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Covilio does not make warranties or guarantees regarding:
- uninterrupted availability of the platform
- accuracy, reliability, or completeness of third-party or user-submitted content
- suitability of listings, stays, or services for a user's expectations or requirements
- absence of technical defects, vulnerabilities, or external service interruptions
Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be lawfully excluded under applicable consumer or mandatory law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Covilio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or loss-of-profit damages arising out of or related to the use of, or inability to use, the platform.
Covilio is not responsible for disputes, losses, damages, or claims arising primarily from:
- content submitted by users or hosts
- conduct of third parties
- property conditions, availability, cancellations, or service performance by hosts or partners
- failures of third-party providers, including payment, hosting, infrastructure, or security providers
Nothing in these terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
Suspension and termination
Covilio may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the platform where reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected breach, security risk, unlawful conduct, or misuse of the service.
Users may stop using the platform at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination, including those relating to liability, intellectual property, payments already due, and legal compliance, will remain applicable after termination.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law applicable to the Covilio operating entity, subject to any overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply in the user's country of residence.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the use of the platform shall be handled by the competent court or authority with jurisdiction under applicable law, unless a different mandatory legal forum applies.
Updates to these terms
Covilio may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. The version published on the platform is the current reference version.
